Subject: Complaint against Digvijaya News for thefour programmes premiered on 8th and 9th of March 2021 and 4th April 2021 on ‘Conversion’ specifically attacking with false innuendos using half-truths and consciously promoting communal attitudes against the Christian community in violation of the Programme and Advertising Codes prescribed under the Cable Television Network Rules, 1994
Respected Sir/Madam,
The Campaign against Hate Speech is a group of concerned activists, parents, lawyers, and academicis who make the media accountable to journalistic standards, ethics, and principles. The media is the fourth pillar of democracy as “Growth and development of representative democracy are so intertwined with the growth of the press that the press has come to be recognized as an institutional limb of modern democracy”. With this pronounced responsibility, there is a heightened duty of the media to abide by the letter of the law, especially regarding hate speech. The onus is on media houses to distance themselves from the race of sensationalism and TRP to fulfil this responsibility.
Digvijay News Channel aired two programmes on the 8th and 9th of March 2021 on ‘Conversion’. On 8th March 2021, the channel, while telecasting the live story on Facebook, claimed that Conversion is terrorism. On 9th March 2021, they did another show claiming that they had evidence to prove that ’mass conversion to Christianity’ was taking place. Both programmes were intended to “expose mass Christian Conversion”. The Anchor called upon Hindus for an “awakening” to prevent a chaos society by 2030 or 2040. These programmes carried false, unsubstantiated, frivolous political rhetoric coupled with carefully crafted content to depict Christians negatively. The intention seemed to arouse fear and panic against Christians deliberately. The programmes further advised Hindus to take stern action as Christians were supposedly threatening Hindu identity and existence. They insinuated that a global conspiracy was afoot to induce conversions. The Anchor claims it to be “investigative journalism” and uses videos wherein people are seen barging into Christians’ houses, abusing, threatening the residents of the houses. These videos glorify criminal behaviour against Christians and are telecasted as a deliberate and malicious act pushing a false narrative about the Christian community.
In light of the above, we are filing our grievances against the following two programs:
- Programme 1: ಮೋಸದ ಮತಾಂತರಕ್ಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ.. ಭಾಗ-2 | Here is Evidence for Mass Christian Conversion
Mamatha Hegde anchored the program. The programme was aired on 9th March 2021. The anchor begins the program, saying she has “yesterday talked about how serious and dangerous Conversion is, like terrorism. This is a continuation of that programme. In Davanagere, Sunday, there was a big fight. Pro-Hindu organizations, villagers go and gather in one house. In that house, they were preaching religion. That too, the owner of the house was not well. They were told that the owner would get healed, and these innocent people were made to sit, and they were talking to them. Such a complaint comes, and the video is given to Digvijaya news by the villagers. Remember, many people are mailing us in recent days, messaging us about Conversion by fraud, force or misleading, and our fight is against them. First, let us see the visuals from Davanagere.” The following visual contains serious infringement of the right to privacy, freedom to associate and right to perform religion.
Further, the video depicts the commission of a criminal offence involving criminal trespass, criminal intimidation and intentional insult. The shouting, coupled with hurling abuses at the residents by calling them whores, threatening to hit them with slippers and so on because they belong to another religion, attracts an offence of causing disharmony between religious groups. The Anchor glorifies such criminal behaviour by calling it a big fight when, in fact, it was a group of people barging and disturbing a peaceful religious gathering.
The Anchor, at this point, states an unverified and unsubstantiated fact that “about 400 people from Veerashaiva Lingayat community were converted into Christianity”. The viewers are given the impression that it this is a fact related to the story being narrated by the anchor. Then she speaks of sharing another visual as a sting operation from Andhra Pradesh which is entirely unconnected to the visual story shown from Davanagere. Without stating or clarifying any of this, the Anchor pushes for a false narrative that Christians are converting by fraud. Using the visuals from Andhra, she starts speaking about NGOs and falsely insinuates and misinforms the public that all the 20,000 NGOs which lost their license in December 2020 was because they had been involved in conversion. She further aggravates her tone and says that mass conversion is happening.
They show another visual of a man who discloses committing a criminal offence which involves stopping a prayer meeting (disrupting a religious assembly). He says, “We got the information, and we went there and told them that you could pray in your church, and I told that as I am Hindu I will not allow for them to leave my religion. I told them the same.” The Anchor then encourages such criminal behaviour and encourages them to invoke Section 295A falsely against the Christians. She is not explaining the application of law as that would amount to legal awareness but rather a blind invoking of the law to serve an agenda of criminality.
The Anchor constantly says, “it is your responsibility as Hindus“, “you must awaken as Hindus” as a way to motivate Hindus to stop Christians. The Anchor encourages Hindus to stop prayer gatherings from happening and advices on how to make it look like the Christians have committed something wrong. The program encourages criminal behaviour involving criminal trespass, intimidation, and intentional insult.
- Programme 2: “ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದನೆಗಿಂತಭಯಾನಕಮತಾಂತರ! ಒಬ್ಬಹಿಂದುಕ್ರಿಶ್ಚಿಯನ್ಧರ್ಮಕ್ಕೆಮತಾಂತರವಾದರೆಸಿಗುವದುಡ್ಡೆಷ್ಟುಗೊತ್ತಾ?” – Conversion is scarier than Terrorism! Do you know how much money is made when a Hindu converts to Christianity?
Mamatha Hegde anchored the program. The programme was aired on 8th March 2021. She opens the program referring to a recent false story by Suvarna News concerning BJP member Goolihatti’s mother. She states unverified ‘numbers’ to shock the viewers, saying that in “the last ten years more than 20 thousand people have converted to Christianity. We have all heard about mass conversion and Conversion.” She then claims to have answers for “Do you know how much money is paid when one Hindu converts into Christianity? Do you know how many people every year are converting from Hindu to Christianity? I will give you even those details. Along with this I will also tell you about what the Constitution says about Conversion.”
She references a study but does not state either verbally or visually who did the study, where was the study conducted and what was the objective of the study. She vaguely says that “in 2020, about 14,000 – 17000 have converted to Christianity because of the hidden agenda of the missionaries“. Immediately, she changes her source of this information from a study to a piece of information shared in a closed webinar and shows the viewer a black and white print out of a PowerPoint page.
She speaks explicitly to her Hindu viewers and says, “If Hindus still do not awaken themselves. If they still believe that Conversion is not happening, then please watch this live video. So that Conversion does not become a problem for future generations”. She then accuses Christian Missionaries and says that, “they are drugged in conversion and carry a malicious intention to convert and I would like to place some numbers about it before you”. They are organizing 1500 programs across India to bring you into Christianity. An NGO confesses this. When people try to talk about Conversion, they are scared that it will affect secularism, and for so many years, they did not voice, but this did not happen. Because 1500 programs are organized targeting Hindus and Muslims, asking them to change their lifestyle shows their intention, we must understand that. In one year, they organize about 5 lakh programs to convert people from one religion to another, which is also being said by statistics. They call it Gospel, and Gospel means programs to spread the Christian religion. Then how many conversions happen in a week?”.
These words of the Anchor to provide numbers and false accusation against Christians and vehemently accusing them of Conversion by fraud intends to spell an intense fear of the minority community and further says that “The Hindus must awaken because the ratio is 70:1. They are converting 70 Hindus”. These programmes are constructing a Hindu identity among the viewers. So, when one watches the channel, they are not viewing it Hindu but as the anchor repeatedly state Hindu viewers arise and awaken kind of language potentially makes a viewer seen themselves as Hindus. The dominant re-assertion in such manner harms the secular ethos of the Indian Constitution.
At this point, she references to the video of Pastor Praveen from Andhra. This a video relating to an incident which occurred in Andhra Pradesh and was earlier used as evidence to claim that NGOs are converting Hindus to Christians. The anchor without any reason or connection, makes it convenient to use it in the context of Karnataka and India. She also brings in the role of NGOs without offering any explanation of how it is all connected. With the sole intention of constructing a false narrative to serve the agenda of inducing fear in the minds of the Hindus and portraying the Christians in a bad light. She then speaks of Prison Ministry India and makes false accusations of Conversion against them and indicates a global conspiracy by saying that “there is funding from Canada, US and there are documents to support it”.
The anchors then speak of people in an insulting and undignified manner as if they lacked autonomy of thought, will, and agency to make a choice relating to their faith and accuses Christians of giving money to convert. Then she encourages criminal behaviour and says that “if a priest comes, please call the police and complain. Tell the police that they are trying to convert. If ten people get punished, then the 11th person will not come. If we do not show courage, if we do not protect our religion, then none of this will stop”.
The language of the Anchor indicates the need for immediate and urgent action against the Christian community. Furthermore, she ends the programme by saying, “One thing is clear we must raise our voice against Conversion by fraud. Then it will not be easy in the next 30 to 40 years. If 14,000 people convert or leave the Hindu religion in one year, then whose religion is facing loss? I think we must reflect overall this”.
- Programme 3: ಹಳ್ಳಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕದ್ದುಮುಚ್ಚಿ ನಡೀತಿದೆ ಮತಾಂತರ!?: ಮುಗ್ಧರು, ಬಡವರೇ ಮಿಷನರಿಗಳ ಟಾರ್ಗೆಟ್!|
The programme was aired on 9th March 2021. The program can be accessed herehttps://youtu.be/knaYCS6grZU, and a transcript of the program is herewith produced as Annexure – ‘C’. The anchor begins the program, calling conversion an epidemic and categorically identifies the Christian community as being responsible. She further attributes false and unverified motives on to the missionaries. The language of the program sensationalises to point at a conspiracy of Christians to secretly convert, lure and target poor people which is totally false and unsubstantiated. Further while showing videos admitting criminal trespass, the channel also provides the voice of one P.C. Srinivas and he says “Two pastors have gone the house of unhealthy person and asked them to convert saying that Jesus will heal you. The members of our organisation have then beaten them up and chased them away”. These statements clearly admit the illegality of their actions to beat people and the channel wrongly portrays such criminal behaviour as heroic. This program is essentially branding an entire minority community to convert adding to their vilification.
- Programme 4 : ದಾವಣಗೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂದುವರಿದ ಮತಾಂತರ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆ: ಪರವಾನಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲದೇ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾ ಮಂದಿರ!
The programme was aired on 4th April 2021. The program can be accessed here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYtQB5XaLE0, and a transcript of the program is herewith produced as Annexure – ‘D’. The anchors says “Church is running without license! A church has come about in a well-known locality! We have received information that this church is for converting people! In Siddaveerappa Layout, L.G. Complex such an activity has taken place! Hindu Jagarana Vedike has raided the place! More than 100 people praying there have been caught live! No masks, No social distancing! Nobody to care! Nobody to ask!”. The anchor of the program accuses the church of converting people. Though in the video it is visibly seen that there are adults who are questioning the members of the Hindu Jagarana Vedike as to why they are interfering. The program to strengthen the accusation of conversion says without proof that the church is illegal. The Anchor also says “More than 100 people praying there have been caught live” as a way to point out that praying itself is an illegal act the one’s praying are Christians and therefore is illegal.
The programs while the showing the videos as captured by the people committing acts punishable under law are also asked to voice their opinions to legitimize these actions. Suresh on the call says “We have doubts that the people are being offered inducements to get converted. None of the women who were here are from this locality. They are all from slums and villages. This has been happening for many days now. Vishwa Hindu Parishat and Hindu Jagarana Vedike have visited them and that is when the information has come out. This Gopi and Lakshman are not coming forward. Only the women are coming forward. They say they are pastors. Even they are converted.” The channel is in the habitual to continuously air such programs which tarnishes the image of the entire Christian community.
These four programs, wholly sensationalized, were aired as news to the public. The shows, by virtue of its anchor’s statements, a sting operation, videos depicting criminality and showing random videos as sting operations is claiming that “Conversion is Terrorism and there is Evidence for Mass Conversion”. This is in flagrant violation of:
- Rule 6 of the Programme and Advertising Codes prescribed under the Cable Television Network Rules, 1994
Rule 6(1) states that no programme should be carried in the cable service, which
(a). Offends against good taste or decency.”
There exists no good taste or decency in this reportage targeting Christians and accusing them of converting by fraud. The reportage uses videos displaying criminal behaviour and insinuates conversion. There is no constitutional bar on conversion. Any person is free to convert out of a free will. Further, the Court in EFI v. State of Himachal Pradesh (2012) held that the State has no right to ask a person to disclose his/her personal belief. Nevertheless, the Anchor encourages the behaviour of some men who barge into people’s home illegally, stop Christians without cause, hand them over to the police and violently ask them to disclose their religion.
In R. Jeganathan Israel v. The Superintendent of Police (2019), the Hon’ble Court has held that “there is no need to get prior permission from any authority for assembling and conducting prayers in a dwelling place. The authorities must safeguard every citizen of this country to practice constitutional rights and further directed the authorities to only act if there is concrete evidence and further restrained the people from interfering with the peaceful conducting of prayer in the house”. The Anchor in the show advises the viewers to act against Christians, violating their fundamental and constitutional rights.
(c) Contains attack on religions or communities or visuals or words contemptuous of religious groups or which promote communal attitudes;
Statements such as “Serious and dangerous Conversion, terrorism, about 400 people from the Veerashaiva Lingayat community were converted into Christianity, the last ten years more than 20 thousand people have converted to Christianity. We have all heard about mass conversion and Conversion, Do you know how much money is paid when one Hindu converts into Christianity? Do you know how many people every year are converting from Hindu to Christianity?, in 2020, about 14,000 – 17000 have converted to Christianity, If Hindus do not awaken, They are organizing 1500 programs across India to bring you into Christianity, The Hindus must awaken because the ratio is 70:1. They are converting 70 Hindus”. This is all deliberate to portray the Christian community as having an agenda to convert and encourage hostility against them by appealing to the Hindus. It is also promoting communal attitudes by way of instilling fear in one community against members of another community.
(d) Contains anything obscene, defamatory, deliberate, false and suggestive innuendos and half-truths;
Throughout the four programmes, the Anchor uses videos that contain violent acts against Christians and suggests it as a suitable response to the alleged “fraudulent conversion”. She claims to be speaking of facts and then goes on to show three videos utterly unrelated to each other, followed by facts and figures that are all used to show that Christians are outsiders and must be stopped and taken to the police. There is no reference to the sources relied upon to provide genuine and verifiable content to the viewers. Instead, the anchors use the content to spin a false narrative about Christians.
(i) Criticizes, maligns or slanders any individual in person or certain groups, segments of the social, public and moral life of the country;
Making statements such as “Conversion is like terrorism, about 400 people from the Veerashaiva Lingayat community were converted into Christianity, the last ten years more than 20 thousand people have converted to Christianity. We have all heard about mass conversion and Conversion, Do you know how much money is paid when one Hindu converts into Christianity? Do you know how many people every year are converting from Hindu to Christianity?, in 2020, about 14,000 – 17000 have converted to Christianity, If Hindus do not awaken, They are organizing 1500 programs across India to bring you into Christianity, The Hindus must awaken because the ratio is 70:1. They are converting 70 Hindus”. The Anchor insinuates that Conversion is illegal, and there is always fraud, inducement and conspiracy involved. So she encourages and calls upon Hindus to inculcate a sense of hostility against Christians. The Anchor expresses a strong opinion that Conversion would always involve fraud and fails to respect the free will and rights of a convertee. The Anchor has no right to comment on an individual’s choice of practicing faith and reasons therein for choosing a faith. She excites fear in the viewers’ mind as though Conversion is happening everywhere, calling for a violent response, as shown in the video from Davanagere.
(m) Contains visuals or words which reflect a slandering, ironical and snobbish attitude in the portrayal of particular ethnic, linguistic and regional groups.”
The entire programme maligns the Christian community and the work they have contributed towards building this nation. It views people in an undignified manner lacking the will to make a choice, and falsely depicts then as being influenced by someone else. Further, it encourages a response involving physical acts against the law. It views Christians as second class citizens unworthy of living in India and presumes guilt against all of them for converting without any basis in law.
Please note that these four programmes are hardly a news report and are highly objectionable. The tone, tenor and language are crass, prejudiced and disrespectful. It serves not to present facts but to rouse hatred between religious communities and cause prejudice and discrimination against one religious minority community.
The District Level Monitoring Committee was ordered to be setup in each State all over the country vide Order dated 19th February 2008, No. F-1203/1/2007- B.C.II by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. A copy of this Order is annexed as Annexure – C. Karnataka had failed to set up this Committee even in 2019. Addressing this lack of formation of the Committee, the Karnataka High Court on 18th September 2019, passed an order in WP 11776/2019 mandating the District and the State Level Monitoring be setup. In furtherance of this Karnataka High Court order, the District Level Monitoring Committee has been set up since January 2020.
Dighvijay News is a private channel that this Hon’ble authority has complete powers to initiate action against them. Especially in light of the Order passed by Shri Kamal Pant, the Chairman and authorized nodal officer of this authority, dated 09.03.2021, annexed as Annexure – E, the authority must initiate action against Dighvijay TV for the four programmes aired on 8th and 9th March 2021 and 4th April 2021.
Given the gross violations of the Programme and Advertisement Code, 1994 by the 4 programmes aired by Dighvijay News, we urge you to:
- Seize the equipment used for operating the cable television network under Section 11 of the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995 by them.
- Mandate them to air an apology for a period of 2 months and suspend their broadcast for a period of 2 months.
- Prosecute them under Section 16 of the Cable Television Network Act, 1994 as per the Order No. CoP/BCP/MAG/19/2021 dated 09.03.2021.
The journalists concerned should also be stripped off their press credentials to uphold the credibility and ethics of journalism. We implore you to also act on this matter urgently as any delay could have precipitous consequences. Failing which, we will be forced to initiate legal action to which the Committee will be made a party for the non-compliance of a Karnataka High Court order.

Man says: In the village we are all from the same religion. We are living in unity and these people have come and unnecessarily causing communal disharmony. This process was happening slowly and it was not all of a sudden. Since four to five years, this is happening. Secretly they sit in each house for 2 hours. If their intention is to help the poor, helpless or backward, then please help in whatever way you can. We will join hands with you. In the guise of helping, they are affecting Hindu religion by saying about their religion.
Anchor: So you saw, you heard what the locals are saying. What is interesting is that in Davanagere, a few days ago also an accusation was heard. The accusation was that 400 people from Veerashaiva Lingayat community were converted into Christianity. There is a lot of talk about this Conversion that it was by fraud. Presently, the police are inquiring into it. Now I will have to show some more videos. Yesterday I had presented that in Andhra Pradesh about 699 villages were converted into Christian villages by Pastor Praveen. A lot of them were asking whether it is true? Even before we talk about it, let us look at the video he is speaking:

Praveen: after they accept Jesus and remove tree god or stone god then I will call them a Christian village. In some villages, I had hit some trees and stones with my leg in front of the village people. They only would say I can do it as it is fake. I have kicked the gods and I was so happy. From that time, we made Christ village. Christ village means whole village accepted Christ. In that way we made hundreds of Christ villages.
Anchor: One is clear, in the sting operation being so overconfident how he insulted the other religions. Then what to call this? Not everyone is doing this. We know how good the Roman Catholics are. I have friends too who have raised their voice against Conversion by fraud. But their voice is not enough. So, you heard the first matter he said. He only tells how many villages are converted from his own mouth. What his intentions are also he only says. While he was giving information to a US based agency he gives all this information which was leaked and you can now see the remaining portion of the sting video:

Anchor: So in January this becomes viral on social media. He also get arrested on 13th January. He gets bail in February in Andhra Pradesh and his hatredness has not decreased. Who will raise a voice against these people? Is also our question.

For example, out of 83 of the planted, legitimate churches under the Jesus Centre. They average around 5 baptisms in water a week. So, in church over a period of a year record show that we had an excess of 17,000 hindus baptized in the name of the father, son and the holy spirit. And then we took the total of the 3000 missionaries and pastors and evangelicals that had been trained for the several last years.

Then why hasn’t poverty eradicated? Because if they have worked without any of their hidden agendas, then each home would have had better facilities. Why is it not so? Many are sitting in foreign and misleading. This has been proved and because of that 20,000 NGO’s have lost license under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act. We have also received many complaints. We have also bought it to the notice of the Central Government. Remember because of the reporting by Digvijaya news more than 1000 NGO’s have been cancelled by the Central Government. There is inquiry happening. We have given some investigative reports to them. We just gave some proof to make you understand about the gravity of the issue. We are searching for such reports for the last 6 years and we have submitted the same to the Government. We are keen on seeing what action they take. Our fight is even though article 25 says that any person has freedom of religion but there are conditions. Forcefully you cannot covert is said by the same Constitution. Also, no one should be converted by fraud or by creating disharmony. Many people have mailed me, messaged me saying that in their village there was no church and now there is a church every 500 metre and we do not have a problem with the church, but there is inducement and encashing on vulnerabilities. There is mass Conversion happening, and this must be stopped. Many have written letters, emails. We did an investigation.

The Anchor Mamatha Hedge welcomes the audience for Facebook live. Dear viewers, we recently saw the news of BJP member Goolihatti’s mother conversion. This news made so much noise because in Hosadurga for the last ten years, more than 20 thousand people have converted to Christianity. We have all heard about mass conversion and Conversion. Many are not aware of Conversion by fraud, and I would like to give some statistics to support it. The missionaries who have come to convert people into Christianity have an agenda, and I would place it before you with evidence. This is important because not only Hindus are being sacrificed for this but also Muslims. I will give an account of Mass Conversion. Do you know how much money is paid when one Hindu converts into Christianity? Do you know how many people every year are converting from Hindu to Christianity? I will give you even those details. Along with this, I will also tell you about what the Constitution says about Conversion?
The first detail, according to a study in 2020, about 14,000 – 17000 have converted to Christianity because of the hidden agenda of the missionaries. There are not just some numbers I am saying, but I have evidence. One missionary sitting in a foreign country have shared such information as if it is an achievement in a closed webinar. (She holds a black and white print out of some content written in Hindi language and shows it to the viewers). She claims that Digvijaya news has had access to such information. If Hindus still do not awaken themselves or believe that Conversion is not happening, please watch this live video so that Conversion does not become a problem for future generations. I was talking about how many people are leaving the Hindu religion in one year. After that, you might have heard about programs dissemination information about religions even in Hindu religion, Muslim religion. But how many do you think could be organized in a year. You only calculate it. Even before that, do you know how much these Christian missionaries in India are spreading their religion in one day? Being drugged in Conversion and with an evil intention how they do Conversion, I would like to place some numbers about it before you. They are organizing 1500 programs across India to bring you into Christianity. This is confessed by an NGO. When people try to talk about Conversion, they are scared as it will affect Secularism and so for so many years, but this did not happen. Because 1500 programs are organized targeting Hindus and Muslims, asking them to change their lifestyle shows their intention, we must understand that. In one year, they organize about 5 lakh programs to convert people from one religion to another, which is also being said by statistics. They call it Gospel, and Gospel means programs to spread the Christian religion. Then how many conversions happen in a week? I am not saying that all churches are doing conversions. We are not against Christianity in this report. We are against Conversion by fraud. Conversion through inducement is illegal. I will also tell you of that section about what section a case can be filed and the punishment. Share this with as many people because if we do not chase this problem today, then by 2040 or 2050, there will be complete disorder in society. The Hindus must awaken because the ratio is 70:1. They are converting 70 Hindus and one Muslim. This is a piece of important information.
In one week, a minimum of 5 people are being converted. This is also a finding from a study. Recently, Pastor Praveen is arrested. He has converted 699 villages for 99 crores. You might find it difficult to believe it. In 699 villages where Hindus were living have all now become Christian villages. Because he has misled people, through inducement, I will take care of hospital expenses, Jesus will take care and the whole villages 699 villages in Andhra Pradesh. You can even see it. If you ask what he did with the 90 crores, it is in his account. Not that he gave it to the poor. At least the people whom he cheated, have they received it?. No. Another study says that foreign forces are creating an NGO to manage 400 people in India or Karnataka. Since this was proved with evidence. On 27th December, the licenses of 20,000 NGO’s have been cancelled. Even this can be cross-verified.
These NGO’s which have taken birth like dogs; we are not sure whether they are beneficial to people or country, but they are definitely doing the work of misleading people, and this is becoming clearer. Along with this, I will give you a classic example of Conversion by fraud. We have a proof for all of this. We have done an in-depth study and collected evidence. Prison Ministry of India is a non-governmental organization. Many people think that this is a central government agency but what they do is that they go to prisons and meet prisoners, and those who meet these will they sit quietly definitely not. They get entry into prisons saying that they are helping them change their minds, and along with changing their minds, they also change their religions. Only when mass conversions happen do the jail officials know about it. I can give many examples. I am not reporting this. Indian Policy Foundation has reported about the Prison Ministry of India. Along with it, why I am talking about NGO’s across the world is because we all know the reason as to why these NGO’s were created. There are 10 lakh NGO’s world over. Amongst these, most NGO’s are sending money to India. And we hear that their single agenda is to destroy Hindutva or Hinduism here. There is funding from Canada, US and even though there are documents to support it. There is not much information that Government is taking enough action against them.
Also, if you start listing these NGO’s like countries, then I will give you this example to tell you how rich they are. They will stand with a GDP of 5%. If so much money is flowing just for this, imagine how they can induce and trap poor people by showing them money. Now you can ask, if one Hindu gets converted into Christianity, then how much money is fixed? I will give you those details now. If one Hindu gets converted into Christianity, then the inducement depends on his caste. Secondly, it depends on what situation he is in. Because the missionaries around you will not be in white and white, they will look normal, talk like friends, and start talking about their religion after some time. If you are too weak financially, then they will use the money to fulfil your needs. If you have health issues, then they will promise to take care of it if they convert. So they do it in two ways. Then the backward castes are asked to leave their religion for 4,000 or 5,000 rupees. This has happened also. There are mass conversions. If I have to give you a classic example, then in Madadhakere and Mathpdu hobli, our Vijayavani has done a report that the problem of Conversion is increasing. We have reported this. Here also, in the last 5 to 6 years, all are getting converted to or attracted to Christianity. The reason is that there is complete financial stress. They are encashing it and getting people converted to Christianity. I just gave you an example in Karnataka. Such examples you will find in Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, but nobody will talk about it because then people will keep them far from Secularism. They are scared of losing Secularism, and so they are not speaking. Another important information is that you can see around like in railway stations, or city centres where you can see banners like how you can change a life? Success stories. If you wish to succeed, please call on this toll-free number if you believe them and call on that toll-free number. Even if they come forward to help you financially, their agenda is to convert you to Christianity.
Again, as I said, they will give you inducement whether you need money or health problems or settle somebody in the family. Depending on which will convince you, they will give it to you and take away your religion to you. A lot of people, even before knowing, will fall into the trap. Not only ordinary people, even IAS and IPS officers, are falling trap for this case. We are getting to know that there is a big officer behind this. Then you may ask what kind of offence is this? According to Section 295 IPC, three years imprisonment and fine. Many of them do not know what should be done when a priest comes, then please call the police and give a complaint. Tell the police that they are trying to convert. If ten people get punished, then the 11th person will not come if we do not show courage; if we do not protect our religion, then none of this will stop. In 1935, Gandhiji spoke in an interview that Conversion is a problem, and if I had the power, I would have stopped it. So, all the people following Gandhiji must also do something about this. In 1976, even the Supreme Court said that right to propagate does not mean the right to convert. So Conversion by inducement, force or fraud is illegal. Please understand this. And if we keep quiet, in Karnataka around Kapali hill, about 1300 families in a short period converted to Christianity. Why did they convert to Christianity only, why in such a short period, you must only think about it a little. Even if you talk to people around you a little, you will find someone who has converted to Christianity. In a village without any Christian, they will build a big church, and what does this mean? What is the agenda? Conversion is not something that has increased in the last 80 or 90 years. It was prevalent even during Akbar’s time. It has been recorded in some places. It is shocking to know that a Christian priest tried to convert Akbar, and he stayed there for 3 years. He goes back to when it did not happen. Now you may ask, Christian missionaries will tell that your god and our god is the same, then to not discriminate we may think that they are following our religion no? You may ask like this. You may see Jesus holding a Trishul or Jesus like Krishna or people celebrating Sankranthi. You may think that they are Christians and do all this like us to be like us. Please do not get cheated because, in a Goan inquisition book, all of this is antichristian. They massacred those following the Hindu religion, more than 100 of them. Do not fall for such traps. Many innocents have fallen for this, you, please educate. Just because they copy Hindu culture, they will not all become real. As per the census, Christians are 2.3% but let me be very clear. Shibu Thomas has accepted that almost 6 to 8% have increased unofficially. Those to convert do not change their name and religion. This will lead to communal disharmony. It will become tough if we do not awaken to this.
One legislator from Andhra says that as per the census in Andhra, they are 2.5%, but about 25% Christians. They say that even if you need a arunodhaya card, then convert. This has become such a big problem in Andhra. This may also become a big problem for Karnataka, so we must awaken. Also, they say, only the Hindu religion has caste and discrimination, but Business Line quotes that Dalit Christians are fighting for their rights. You are getting what I am trying to say. They say one thing, and after Christians go there, then they are treated differently. Why is the Government not stopping this? I don’t know? We do not know why there is no stringent anti-conversion law? Along with this, missionaries are doing such heinous work nobody is opposing it. So, whose religion is in danger? Or who is under threat from whom? is also getting clear now. So, please share this with as many people. It is clear we must raise our voice against Conversion by fraud. Then it will be tough in the next 30 to 40 years. If 14,000 people convert or leave the Hindu religion in one year, then whose religion is facing loss? I think we must reflect on all this. Along with Conversion, there are also lies they spread. One episode is not enough.

This is an incident that has taken place in Davanagere in a well-known locality. On the face of it, it looks like they do not have permission to run this church in this public complex. The police have also visited the spot. They have not taken any license or documents. This is a hall taken to convert people. They called it worship, fellowship and praise and counselling. We have doubts that the people are being offered inducements to get converted. None of the women who were here are from this locality. They are all from slums and villages. This has been happening for many days now. Vishwa Hindu Parishat and Hindu Jagarana Vedike have visited them and that is when the information has come out. This Gopi and Lakshman are not coming forward. Only the women are coming forward. They say they are pastors. Even they are converted. In March 8th, also similar incident took place wherein the pastors were sent out. They say that Hindu gods are powerless, they offer money. No cases are registered.
